Knights of Columbus welcome new council

The Delaware Knights of Columbus recognized a new council at their recent convention in Rehoboth Beach. The charter for the St. Joseph on the Brandywine Council was presented. Diocesan delegation leaving for Guatemala

Father John Hynes, pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Wilmington, will lead a six-person delegation from the Diocese of Wilmington to San Marcos, Guatemala, from June 20-30. The two dioceses have had a partnership since 2003.

During the trip, the delegation will visit a  medical clinic and churches in El Rodeo, San Pablo, and El Quetzal. Others from the diocese who are making the trip include  Diane Bale of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, Glasgow; Michelle Budd of All Saints School, Elsmere; Sister LaVerne King, principal of Christ the Teacher School, Glasgow; Joan McConnell of St. Mark High School, Wilmington; and Mark Record, principal of Most Blessed Sacrament School, Berlin, Md.
