Knights of Columbus welcome new council
REHOBOTH BEACH — The Knights of Columbus have made a sizeable contribution to help fund a Stations of the Cross that will be placed around the shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace on the grounds of Holy Spirit Church in New Castle. That was one of the items of business that was discussed at the Knights’ annual state convention, which was held May 11-13 in Rehoboth Beach.
Michelle Lennon, the owner of Angel Crossing in Elsmere who is involved with the shrine, said the stations were delivered in mid-May and will be installed soon. The Stations of the Cross had been part of the shrine’s plan “from day one,” and their installation marks the fifth anniversary of the statue on May 26, 2007, Lennon said.
