‘Singing Clerics’ help Elkton parish celebrate

“The Singing Clerics” — Fathers Joseph McQuaide, John Solomon and Anthony Pileggi — provided the highlight of the night when Immaculate Conception Parish celebrated the feast of St. Joseph with an Italian dinner on March 16. The dinner included door prizes, raffles and prize baskets.

The trio of priests belted out classics including “That’s Amore” and “O Sole Mio.” Father McQuaide, stationed at Holy Cross in Dover, attended Immaculate Conception School. Father Solomon is associate pastor, and Father Pileggi, now at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Newark, once served at the Elkton parish.

Deacon Joseph Kosman dies at 57

 BEAR – Deacon Joseph Kosman, a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Wilmington since 2001, died May 12 of cancer at his home. He was 57.

Deacon Kosman, a native of Connecticut, moved to Delaware from Ohio in 1993 to take a job with W.L. Gore. He held master’s and doctorate degrees in chemistry from the University of Massachusetts.
