Ss. Peter and Paul names new girls’ lacrosse coach

EASTON, Md. – Dave Morrell, a former lacrosse standout at Ss. Peter and Paul High School, has returned to his alma mater as the girls’ lacrosse coach, the school announced earlier this month.

Morrell had previously coached the boys at Ss. Peter and Paul, winning the school’s first Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association title in 2000. He also won a Maryland regional championship while coaching the boys at Easton High School. Read more »

WILMINGTON — Since arriving at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Wilmington six years ago, Father Volodymyr Klanichka has been a man on the move.

He is the pastor of the church on Lea Boulevard, the round one near the Home Depot that is visible from I-95. That parish includes St. Basil’s, a mission church in Chesapeake City, Md. Father Klanichka also spends a few days a week as a chaplain at Christiana Hospital. Read more »

St. Edmond’s parishioner is Delaware’s Knight of the Year

 REHOBOTH BEACH — Louis Anderson has been active as a Knight of Columbus since joining in Panama in 1973, where he was stationed with the United States Army.

He continued when he lived in Arlington, Va., and worked at the Pentagon as a contractor for the Defense Department, and after his retirement to Rehoboth Beach in 2005. For his work this past Columbian year, Anderson was named the Delaware Knight of the Year at the state convention in May in his hometown. Anderson did not expect the honor.
