The first full week of games kicks off this week and here is the boys’ preview of games and matches this week. As always outdoor sports are weather-permitting, so check the school’s website.

This afternoon, Appoquinimink visits St. Mark’s for a boys lacrosse game at 3:45 p.m. The Spartans are coming off a tough 7-5 loss to an out-of-state team over the weekend. It is Appo’s first game of the season; they lost in the first round of last season’s tournament to the Spartans, 15-5.

Tuesday

Baseball

William Penn at Archmere, 3:45 p.m. The Auks are coming off a 11-3 win at Middletown on Saturday and look strong this year. Penn lost, 5-2, to Mount on Saturday and look to rebound.

St Thomas More at St Andrews, 4 p.m. The Ravens are looking to improve this year and a win against St Andrews would be a good start. St Andrews was 7-11 last year.

Wednesday

Lacrosse

Archmere at St Mark’s, 3:45 p.m. This is the second game this week for the Spartans. The Auks are coming off a big opening win against Brandywine, 19-3. The Spartans beat the Auks last year, 8-7.

Malvern Prep at Salesianium, 5:30 p.m. The defending state champions open their season against an out-of-state team. The Sals only play four Delaware teams this year so they need to win these other games. They have some good talent coming back but the two Reeder brothers are not playing this year.

Baseball

St Elizabeth at St Mark’s, 4 p.m. Defending champion St. Mark’s opens up its season at home against the Vikings, who are coming off a 3-0 loss to Conrad on Saturday. The Vikings beat the Spartans twice during the regular season last year but were knocked out in the semifinals by St. Mark’s.

Thursday

Baseball

Salesianium at Caravel at 7 p.m. The Sals open the season on the road after just missing out on the postseason last year despite an 11-7 record. The Bucs shut out Cape Henlopen,10-0, and are gunning for the St. Mark’s this year.
