In this time of Eucharistic Revival and with the celebrations of the National Eucharistic Congress last July and our own Eucharistic Congress here Oct. 5 in the Diocese of Wilmington, so many people and parishes have found ways to embrace and share their love of Jesus.
Lori Parks, pastoral assistant at one of our parishes, St. Elizabeth/St. Benedict in Ridgely, Md., subscribed to email from National Eucharistic Congress organizers leading up to the summer event in Indianapolis. She received an email each week entitled “Heart of the Revival” and a part of that weekly email was a “From the Pews” section which highlighted the Eucharistic witness stories of everyday Catholics.
“I found it to be very inspiring,” she said. “I have always felt a strong call to share my own Eucharistic witness story with people and to encourage them to share theirs. So, that is just what I did at our parish. In the months leading up to the National Eucharistic Congress, I asked our parishioners to submit their own Eucharistic witness stories and then I crafted a small booklet which we distributed at our parish on the weekend of the Feast of Corpus Christi. While I only received 5 or 6 witness stories, I found them very powerful and I heard from several of our parishioners that they did as well.”
Parks reached out to The Dialog wondering if people in other parishes in the diocese might share their own Eucharistic witness stories for inclusion in our diocesan newspaper.
She included one that had been received after the deadline for her parish booklet.
We include it in the article linked here:

Share your witness with The Dialog
As we arrive at the celebration of the Diocese of Wilmington Eucharistic Congress, the Dialog reaches out to Catholics who may want to share their witness to the Eucharist.
The event of the Eucharistic Congress concludes the evening of Oct. 5 in Ocean City, but the “Source and Summit” of the Eucharist is always present.
Your offering of witness, should you choose to share, will be considered for publication at 500 words or less. Include your parish and daytime phone number.
Best to send your personal reflections to email jowens@thedialog.org.
