St. Elizabeth High School graduated 27 seniors on June 2 at the Sister Mary Ellen Arena at the St. E Center. Bishop Koenig presided.

Maddison Shields received the Blessed Virgin Mary Award for the highest general average over four years, and she received departmental honors in English. The Frank E. Webb Memorial Award for the second-highest average went to Gabriel Rabinovitch, who also earned honors in mathematics, science, social studies, world languages and religious studies.

Lamiah Wallace earned the St. Oscar Romero Award for intellectual curiosity, servant leadership and awareness of global issues. The Jennifer Forester Memorial Award for Benedictine Spirit and Viking Pride went to Caitlyn Kowalski.

The Bloomberg Technology Award for interest in studying technology was merited by Daniel Konkle. Olivia Justison received the Shirley Bounds Spirit of Giving Award for best exemplifying the Benedictine spirit of giving back to the community.

The Principal’s Award for character, honesty and integrity went to Christian Lee and Giuliana Priest. The Pastor’s Award for outstanding service to church and school was merited by Matthew Acholla and Kowalski.

Shields earned the St. Scholastica Spirit of the School Award, and Priest received the St. Benedict Award for being an example of peace, community prayer, balance and stability. Rabinovitch was the recipient of the Sister Mary Ellen Hussey Award for best exemplifying Sister’s forthright nature and vision of academic excellence, personal achievement and leadership.

Justison received the Be the Light Scholarship, presented by Jesus House in memory of alumnus Christian Malmgren.

Ariel Garcia and Ryan McCormac received the St. Sebastian Award, which goes to the female and male scholar-athlete for excellence on the field and in the classroom.

Other departmental honors went to Priest, visual arts; Jake Sweeny, chorus and vocal activity; and Brooke Montgomery, performing arts.

Kowalski was recognized for her outstanding community service. She completed more than 200 hours.

The following students received the St. Francis de Sales Medal from the Diocese of Wilmington: MarQuex Barrett, Sirriya Cruz, Garcia, Ne’Hemiah Hamilton, Justison, Lee, McCormac, Priest, Rabinovitch and Shields.

The graduates were accepted into more than 90 colleges and universities and have earned more than 100 grants and scholarships. Twenty-one will be attending college. Two will enter trades and apprenticeship, and four will enter the workforce.
