Through an agreement with Faith Content Network, the hit documentary film “Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist,” which broke box office records this summer, will be screened at the Diocese of Wilmington’s Eucharistic Congress on Oct. 5 at the Rowland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, Maryland.
The Congress, themed “The Eucharist: Source and Summit,” will attract more than 1,500 attendees and is intended to deepen the faith and fellowship among the Catholic community across Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
“We are excited to add Jesus Thirsts to our Eucharistic Congress offerings,” said Bob Krebs, director of communications for the Diocese of Wilmington. “I attended a screening of this amazing documentary this past spring and was moved by the impactful stories and beautiful photography. I don’t see how anyone cannot be affected by this film.”
In “Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist,” viewers embark on a global journey to rediscover and revive the transformative power of the Eucharist. Engaging in dialogue with notable Catholic figures, the film explores the biblical origins of the Eucharist and shares personal stories of people whose lives have been transformed by the Blessed Sacrament. This exploration makes it unmistakably clear that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol but is indeed Jesus Christ himself – fervently desiring to quench our spiritual thirst with his boundless love.
In early June, the three-day Fathom Events theatrical release of “Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist” scored big at the U.S. box office, grossing $2,141,273 and landing at No. 1 in per screen average for all three days. The movie is Fathom’s highest grossing documentary of 2024 and returned to theaters nationwide by popular demand later that month.
