With such beautiful weather and backdrop at the convention center in Ocean City, Maryland, Oct. 5, more than 2,000 people had time to pray, eat and relax during the Diocese of Wilmington Eucharistic Congress at the bayside facility in the Eastern Shore beach town.

A full agenda accounted for most of the allotted time, but people found a way to take a break near the water and wander around the exhibitor’s hall.

The opening prayer came at 10 a.m. and the concluding Mass ended shortly before 6 p.m. with breakout sessions, a film and lunch in between.

The keynote address was presented by Archbishop Richard Henning, the soon-to-be leader of the Archdiocese of Boston.

The homily was delivered by Bishop William Koenig of the Diocese of Wilmington.
