Students from Catholic schools from across the Diocese of Wilmington gathered at Holy Spirit Church in New Castle on Oct. 19 for the annual rosary rally. Bishop Koenig presided at the service.
Padua Academy senior Devon Funchion carried the flag with the diocesan schools’ theme for the year, “Let Us Build the Kingdom of God.” Students recited the Luminous Mysteries of the rosary, with a different student leading each decade.
Lou De Angelo, the diocesan superintendent of schools, spoke about the importance of the rosary and the intercession of Mary, particularly with all the conflicts going on around the globe.
Students then had their photos taken with the bishop in front of the 34-foot tall Shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace outside the church.
