Boys volleyball begins its postseason tournament this week, and outdoor track is set for this weekend in Dover. There are still meaningful baseball games on the schedule, and tournament seeding could be affected in other sports as well as the seasons end this week.

Salesianum baseball plays three times this week, and the Sals need one more win to be eligible for the state tournament. A few high-profile lacrosse games are on tap to end the regular season, including a rematch of the last four state championship battles, and Saint Mark’s at home trying for a big W to close things out before the playoffs.

Don’t forget to confirm dates and times before making the trip. Schedules are always subject to change.

Baseball

Monday, May 13

St. Elizabeth (3-13) at McKean (3-13), 3:30 p.m.

Salesianum (8-7) at Archmere (9-7), 4 p.m.

Tuesday, May 14

Salesianum vs. St. Elizabeth, 3:45 p.m. at Canby Park

Saint Mark’s (13-4) at Sussex Tech (14-2), 4:15 p.m. The Spartans end their regular season on the road in Georgetown against the Ravens, who have lost to just one Delaware foe this season. There is a chance this could be a postseason preview.

Wednesday, May 15

Sanford (15-1) at Archmere, 4 p.m.

Friday, May 17

Sanford vs. Salesianum, 4 p.m. at Dyer Field, Claymont

Lacrosse

Tuesday, May 14

Middletown (9-4) at Saint Mark’s (11-2), 4 p.m.

Salesianum (11-2) at Cape Henlopen (11-3), 7 p.m. The Sals and Vikings have established themselves as the top programs in the state. They have met in each of the last four state championships and five of the last six.

Thursday, May 16

Wilmington Charter (10-3) at Saint Mark’s, 7 p.m. The Spartans’ regular season comes to a close against a quality Force team. Saint Mark’s and Charter score about the same number of goals per game, but the Spartans have been much stingier on defense.
