Happy autumn! As the leaves turn to orange and gold, there are lots of things to do in and around the Diocese of Wilmington in the next few weeks. Here are just a few:
- If you’re looking keep the spiritual connection going following last week’s Eucharistic Congress, check out Forty Hours devotions at St. Hedwig’s Parish in Wilmington from Oct. 11-13. For more information and a detailed schedule, go to sthedwigde.orgor call (302) 594-1400.
- Also in the wake of the Eucharistic Congress, St. Christopher’s Church, Kent Island, will host the Eucharistic Miracle Exhibit from Oct. 18-20. Consider taking a ride to the Eastern Shore for this experience. For more information and a complete schedule, go to www.stchristopherski.org/essen
- Resurrection Parish and Jesus House are hosting Walking With Purpose, a six-week Women’s Catholic Bible Study at Resurrection Parish, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington beginning Oct. 15 & 16. For more information and to register, go to jesushousecenter.org
- On the morning of Oct. 19, grab something good to eat at the Second Annual Irish Breakfast Fundraiser at the New Castle County Irish Society, 1301 S. Rodney St., Wilmington. Proceeds benefit LAOH Christian Charities and NCCIS. Donation is $25 for adults, $10 children under 10. - On Oct. 19, attend a Fall Day of Reflection, including an Introduction to Centering Prayer Workshop presented by Bev Roberts at Resurrection Parish in Wilmington. In addition to the Workshop there will be six optional weekly follow-up sessions at at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at Jesus House Chapel, 2501 Milltown Rd., Wilmington. Light refreshments will be provided. - Check out the fun at the Italian Heritage Dinner Dance at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Hall, 532 E. Stein Hwy., Seaford on Oct. 19 from 6-10 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m., followed by dancing from 7-10 p.m. Catering by Maria’s, and cash bar will be available. Advance sales only, so purchase your tickets by Oct. 12. $25 per person. For more information and tickets, call (302) 629-3591.
- On Oct. 20, the Offices for Marriage and Family Life and Respect Life will host the annual Footprints Mass for Respect Life Month, at 9:30 a.m., at St. John the Beloved Church, Wilmington. A special invitation is extended to parents, grandparents, and siblings who grieve the death of a child. As a Catholic community, all are welcomed to join us in prayerful support at this special healing Mass, a time when we come together to remember those who died too soon.
