Delaware Right to Life will sponsor a March for Life through the city of Dover on Thursday, Jan. 13, to advocate for the protection of the unborn and the vulnerable.   The day will begin with Mass at Holy Cross Church at 8 a.m., followed by an hour of witnessing at Planned Parenthood, two blocks away. At 10:30 a.m., marchers will depart from Planned Parenthood on Governors Avenue and proceed to the steps of Legislative Hall, where participants intend to deliver 129 white roses to legislators as a reminder of the number of abortions performed in the state each month.

The statewide march is both an opportunity for those unable to travel to Washington, D.C. for the annual March for Life, as well as a reminder that the voices of pro-life Delawareans demand to be heard. Legislation passed in 2017 allows abortion for any and no reason and is a reminder that much needs to be done to change the culture of death in the First State.

The accompanying push for assisted suicide (HB 140 – Medical Aid in Dying Options Act) is another major concern for Delawareans during the 2022 legislative session.  For that reason Delaware Right to Life has chosen “Life is a Human Right” for the march’s theme.
