Diocesan Ministry of Black Catholics to commemorate Juneteenth at St. Elizabeth Church in Wilmington

The Ministry of Black Catholics for the Diocese of Wilmington will hold “Still We Rise,” a commemoration and celebration of Juneteenth, on June 19 at St. Elizabeth Church in Wilmington. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. St. Elizabeth is located at 809 S. Broom St., Wilmington.

Rev. Aaron Moore, pastor of Manna Christian Fellowship in Wilmington, will deliver the keynote address. The evening also will include prayer for unity, music and a Juneteenth supper.

Juneteenth marks the anniversary of June 19, 1865, the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free.
