The annual Diocese of Wilmington Blue Mass, typically held the first Friday of October, has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a date to be determined in the spring.

The Mass is an annual event that honors local, county, state and federal law enforcement, fire, emergency medical and military personnel who live and work in the diocese, which includes Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Organizers decided spring can be a more popular time for many emergency services providers.

Also, many in the diocese and parishes are concentrating their efforts on the Eucharistic Congress in Ocean City, Md., Oct. 5.
