• On Aug. 17, Celebrate National Thrift Shop Day at Seton Center Thrift Shop, 30632 Hampden Ave. in Princess Anne, Md. Half-off all merchandise when you make purchase of $10 or more. • On Sunday, Aug. 18, St. John’s in Rock Hall is hosting its annual Bull Roast at the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company, 21500 Rock Hall Ave., Rock Hall, Md. from 1-5 p.m. The Bull Roast features all you can eat and drink and a silent auction. • On Aug. 24, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. be sure to check out the fabulous Parish Yard Sale at St. Benedict’s Parish, 408 Central Ave. in Ridgely, Md. in the Parish Hall (A rain or shine event). Find wonderful like-new and gently-used items at remarkable bargain prices. Children’s items, lawn and garden, housewares, seasonal and holiday, jewelry, home décor, books, collectables, linens, and so much more. Delicious and reasonably priced homemade breakfast and lunch foods and drinks available. Outside vendors can rent their own space at the Yard Sale for only $20 (payable the day of the sale). • Also on Aug. 24, support the Walking with Moms and Family Service, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 35318 Church Road in Frankford. The service is to support any single moms or families who live within the boundaries of both parishes (St. Ann & OLG) and are in need of assistance. The goal of the group is to save lives of the unborn and assist single moms and families. The opening service will include prayer, rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. A St. Ann counselor will be present and guest tables in the narthex at OLG will include St. Ann Respect Life Committee, St. Vincent DePaul group, Knights of Columbus, men’s club and more. • If you are missing loved ones fallen away from the faith, come to the St. Monica Teardrop Mass on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at St. Helena Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. Join the St. Thomas Columbiettes or this annual Mass and devotions to beg St. Monica’s intercession for those loved ones who are away from the Church. Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m., and Mass will begin at 7 p.m. Fill out a Tear Drop card for loved ones and all who have fallen away from the church. • Looking for a gourmet meal and to support a good cause? Come to the monthly International Night Dinner, at the Francis X. Norton Center, 917 North Madison Street, Wilmington on Aug. 25 at 5 p.m.: This month’s guest chefs are from Buckley’s Tavern presenting an “All American” menu. • On Oct. 5 join Bishop Koenig and other Catholics in Ocean City, Md., for the Diocese of Wilmington Eucharistic Congress. Held at the Ocean City Convention Center, the theme is “The Eucharist: Source and Summit.” The day features keynote address by Bishop Richard Henning of the Diocese of Providence, and will include faith-based vendors, a ministry fair, and sessions geared toward various interests and age groups. There will also be opportunities for Adoration and Reconciliation. • Looking ahead to the fall, The St. Margaret of Scotland Church Activities Committee is looking for vendors, crafters and flea marketers to join them on Sept. 28 for the Fifth Annual Outdoor Marketplace from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain or shine event held in the parking lot of St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark.
