The third annual Bishop’s 5K was held Saturday, Nov. 10, at Glasgow Regional Park on a cold and blustery morning. A total of 213 people braved the cold to raise money for Catholic Charities.

Paula Savini of Catholic Charities said $10,700 was raised. It will be used for the organization’s outreach “into underserved areas.”

According to Catholic Charities, one out of every 10 residents of the diocese receives at least one service from Catholic Charities each year. The Bishop’s 5K brings the community together for a fun event heightening awareness of the Catholic Charities services and provides resources for Catholic Charities to expand its outreach efforts. Runners and walkers competed to see who made the best time and were awarded some great prizes.
