Stephen White, executive director of the Catholic Project at Catholic University, will speak on “What the Republic Needs of Us: Catholic Citizenship in an Era of Dissolution” at the fall lecture of the St. Thomas More Society of the Diocese of Wilmington. The lecture will take place on Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at 1201 N. Market St. in Wilmington, with complimentary refreshments beginning at 6.
At the Catholic Project, White has led Catholic University’s response to the clergy abuse crisis, focusing on the collaboration of clergy and laity, according to the St. Thomas More Society, an organization for people in the legal field. He served as executive producer of the podcast, “Crisis: Clergy Abuse in the Catholic Church.”
White also has been a fellow in Catholic Studies at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C., where he concentrates on the intersection of faith, politics and culture. In addition, he writes a bimonthly column for “The Catholic Thing.”
His work has been seen in a wide variety of outlets and websites, and he has been sought out for commentary on church issues by several print and electronic media outlets.
