We’re heading into the crisp days of October in the Diocese of Wilmington, and there are lots of opportunities to enjoy family and faith activities, including Eucharistic Congress on Oct. 5 in Ocean City, Md. Have you signed up yet? Don’t miss it – registration information is below:

• Just two weeks from now, Catholics will gather in Ocean City, Md. for the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress set for Saturday, Oct. 5. Join other faithful from around the Diocese to deepen your faith and fellowship and connect with Jesus in the Eucharist. There will be a ministry fair, and speakers in breakout sessions tailored to various interests and age groups. • On Sept. 21, Good Shepherd School will host its annual Golf Tournament at Furnace Bay Golf Course in Perryville, Md. Sponsorship opportunities are available. $125 per player. • On Thursdays from Sept. 24-Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. and Sundays, Sept. 22-Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Corpus Christi Parish will host the group study program “Who Am I to Judge?” in the parish gathering area, at 903 New Rd., Wilmington. The program explores the classical view of morality and difficult questions that face our culture, featuring teachings of Edward Sri. • Forty Days for Life returns Sept. 25. This peaceful prayer vigil continues through Nov. 1. • On Sept. 27, at 6 & 7:30 p.m., author Philip Campbell will speak at IHM School Hall, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington. At 6 p.m., Campbell will present Homeschooling History at Each Grade Level, geared toward homeschooling parents and at 7:30, The Continuing Legacy of the Reformation in the United States. • Next week, St. Margaret of Scotland Church is hosting the Fifth Annual Outdoor Marketplace on Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come look for treasures, gifts and delicious concessions provided by various crafters, vendors, flea marketers and the church’s Activities Committee. This rain or shine event will be held in the parking lot of St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark.

• Also on Sept. 28, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. the Diocese of Wilmington Annual Marian Pilgrimage will take place at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle. Keynote speaker is Fr. Sebastian White, OP, editor of Magnificat magazine. The Pilgrimage begins with morning Mass at 10 a.m. and concludes with the Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. Bishop Koenig will preside. In addition to Father White’s presentation, the pilgrimage will also include confessions, the Rosary, and Eucharistic Adoration. All are welcome. More information, www.cdow.org/marianpilgrimage/

• On Sept. 29, be sure to check out Mount Aviat’s Annual Roast Beef Dinner, 399 Childs Road, Childs, Md. (Just minutes from Newark.) The menu includes our delicious roast beef with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and of course a delicious array of desserts. Tickets are available in advance or at the door: Adults – $18, Seniors (60+) – $12, and Children (4-10) – $10. Takeout available, too!  For tickets, contact the school office at (401) 398-2206.

• And if you’re in the Wilmington area, don’t miss the Sept. 29, International Night Dinner at Francis X. Norton Center, 917 North Madison Street, Wilmington. Guest chefs are from Columbus Inn. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m. $35 per person – note the new price. All meals by pre-paid reservation only. Benefits Emmanuel Dining Room.
