For The Dialog

The boys’ season heats up this week with some key showdowns – if the rain stays away.

Lacrosse

Monday

St. Georges Tech (1-2) at St. Elizabeth (0-3), 3:45 p.m. at Alapocas Run State Park. The Vikings look for a win in their home opener. They have had some tough-luck losses and look to start a winning week.

Tuesday

Newark Charter (3-1) at No. 5 Archmere (3-1), 4 p.m. The Auks look for a conference win before a top-five showdown coming later in the week.

Ss. Peter and Paul at Gerstell, 4 p.m.

St. Elizabeth at Delcastle (0-3), 4 p.m.

No. 1 Salesiannum (4-2) at St. Mark’s (2-1), 7:30 p.m. The rivals battle under the lights in a game originally scheduled for May 8.

Thursday

St. Mark’s at Tatnall (3-2), 3:45 p.m.

Friday

St. Elizabeth at MOT Charter (4-1), 3:30 p.m.

Ss. Peter and Paul at Friends (Md.), 4 p.m.

Saturday

Brandywine (1-2) at St. Mark’s, 11 a.m.

No. 2 Caesar Rodney (6-0) at No. 5 Archmere, noon. The Auks beat the Riders last year and look to take down high-scoring CR in Claymont this year too.

No. 1 Salesianum at Worcester Prep (Md.) (2-3), time to be announced. The Sals expected to have the week to prepare for this one until a last-minute schedule change placed them at St. Mark’s on Tuesday. They were dominant in their win vs. Cape Henlopen on Saturday.

Baseball

Monday

St. Thomas More (0-3) at St. Andrew’s (3-3), 4 p.m.

Tuesday

No. 3 Appoquinimink (6-1) at St. Elizabeth (4-3), 3:45 p.m. The Vikings look for their fourth straight win and another top-five win after beating St. Mark’s on Thursday. Appoquinimink beat No. 2 Cape Henlopen last time out.

Archmere (4-2) at No. 2 St. Georges Tech (6-0), 4 p.m. The Auks look to win their fourth in a row and upset the unbeaten Hawks on the road

No. 7 Salesianum (3-1) at Wilmington Charter (3-4), 4 p.m.

Key at Ss. Peter and Paul, 4 p.m.

Thursday

Archmere at St. Elizabeth, 3:45 p.m.

St. Thomas More at Holly Grove Christian (Md.), 4 p.m.

Friday

No. 6 St. Mark’s (6-2) at No. 7 Salesianum, 4 p.m. Last year they split, with both teams winning on walkoffs. The first installment of 2018 should be more of the same as both have solid pitching staffs and lineups.

Ss. Peter and Paul at Beth Tfiloh, 4:15 p.m.

Saturday

Newark Charter (1-5) at Archmere, noon

No. 7 Sallies at No. 4 Cape Henlopen (7-1), 1 p.m. This matchup should be fun as the last four years they have split low-scoring games. It could be tougher for the Sals since they play St. Mark’s the day before. Expect another low-scoring game.

Sunday

Conrad (4-3) at No. 6 St. Mark’s 1 p.m., location to be announced.

Volleyball

Monday

Salesianum at St. Mark’s, 5 p.m.

Wednesday

Salesianum at Conrad, 5 p.m.
