Staff members from The Dialog, TheDialog.org and the Diocese of Wilmington Office of Communications have been working to provide important information in advance of the Oct. 5 Eucharistic Congress and plan to generate as much live, multimedia coverage as possible the day of the event.
The Office of Communications will be present at its regular YouTube channel, YouTube.com/dioceseofwilm, livestreaming the keynote presentation at 10 a.m. by Archbishop Richard Henning, who will be installed later this month as the head of the Archdiocese of Boston. At 4 p.m., the livestream will include Bishop William Koenig of the Diocese of Wilmington concelebrating the concluding Mass of the local Eucharistic Congress with dozens of priests.
The Dialog staff will be producing up-to-the-minute news at its website, thedialog.org, and its multiple social media outlets on Facebook, X, Instagram and on its newest stream at TikTok.
If you are attending the congress, look for the Dialog staff members at the news organization’s space in the exhibition hall.
“As we enter the final week leading up to the Congress, we are thrilled that so many people have answered the call and will be joining us for the day,” said Dan Pin, event organizer for the Diocese of Wilmington.
Bob Krebs, Mike Lang, Virginia Durkin O’Shea, Joseph P. Owens and Erica Harmer will be among the communications and news staff greeting attendees and producing news content in real-time for the website and the following print edition of The Dialog. Regular contributors Don Blake, Michael Short, Connie Connolly and Abbey Thibodeau will also be on hand.
Copies of The Dialog Oct. 4 Eucharistic Congress special edition will be available to people attending the congress. The news staff members are making a special effort to increase the number of subscribers to its free local newsletter, The Angelus, and are offering a free gift to those who sign up on site. The newsletter is sent to subscribers three times a week and is available at no cost. Readers can sign up at thedialog.org/newsletter.
