NEWARK — Christ the Teacher Catholic School has been voted the “Best Private School in Northern Delaware” in the 2026 First State Favorites Community’s Choice Awards, the school announced Sept. 23.
The award reflects the support of the local community, which, the school said, makes it especially meaningful. School families, alumni, parishioners, friends and community members rallied behind Christ the Teacher throughout the public voting period.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition and grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for Christ the Teacher Catholic School,” said Joe Rodia, the principal. “This award is a reflection of our entire school community — our dedicated faculty and staff, our wonderful students, our supportive families, and all those who believe in our mission. We are blessed to have such a strong community behind us.”
The recognition comes as Christ the Teacher celebrates its 25th anniversary.
“To celebrate this milestone while receiving an honor chosen by our community is incredibly special. We are grateful to everyone who has been part of the Christ the Teacher Catholic School story,” admissions director Kathy Lee said.
The school serves more than 600 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
