- Don’t miss this! Catholics and other people of faith will gather in Ocean City, Md. for the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress set for Saturday, Oct. 5. Join other faithful from around the diocese to deepen your faith and fellowship and connect with Jesus in the Eucharist. There will be a ministry fair, and speakers in breakout sessions tailored to various interests and age groups. - On Oct. 4 & 5, be sure to check out St. John the Apostle’s 31st Annual Oktoberfest. Lots of entertainment, plus the international food court will be serving up their traditional German entrees, along with Italian, Spanish, Polish, Irish, Hamburgers, Hot dogs, French Fries, Italian Ice, Funnel Cake and homemade baked desserts. Activities for kids, including inflatables such as the obstacle course, face painting, pumpkin painting and a petting zoo, fire truck rides and little train rides. - And on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Immaculate Conception Church in Marydel, Md. will host its 5thAnnual Car Show. There is a $10 Registration fee per car and prizes will be awarded. - On Oct. 9, there will be a day trip to The Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. to see “Daniel.” The bus departs St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parking lot at 8:30 a.m., so report by 8:15 a.m. Cost per person $145 and includes bus fare, ticket to show, bus snacks, smorgasbord lunch at Hershey Farm Restaurant, all tips and taxes. - On Oct. 10, The Ministry of Caring will be hosting “Eleganza” the annual luncheon and fashion show at Wilmington Country Club. Fashions from Sophy Curson of Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, will be featured. Tickets include luncheon, boutique shopping, live auction, and a raffle. All proceeds benefit Ministry of Caring’s emergency shelters and job placement centers. $150 per person. Sponsorships are also being accepted.
