- It’s a beautiful weekend to head down to St. Christopher’s Church, Kent Island, to visit the Eucharistic Miracle Exhibit on display from Oct. 18-20. For more information and a complete schedule, go to www.stchristopherski.org/essen
- On the morning of Oct. 19, grab something good to eat at the Second Annual Irish Breakfast Fundraiser at the New Castle County Irish Society, 1301 S. Breakfast runs from 9 a.m. until noon.
- Check out the fun at the Italian Heritage Dinner Dance at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Hall, 532 E. Stein Hwy., Seaford on Oct. 19 from 6-10 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m., followed by dancing from 7-10 p.m. Catering by Maria’s, and cash bar will be available. - On Oct. 20, the Offices for Marriage and Family Life and Respect Life will host the annual Footprints Mass for Respect Life Month, at 9:30 a.m., at St. John the Beloved Church, Wilmington. A special invitation is extended to parents, grandparents, and siblings who grieve the death of a child. As a Catholic community, all are welcomed to join us in prayerful support at this special healing Mass, a time when we come together to remember those who died too soon.
- On Oct. 23 at 6 p.m., there will be an Ecumenical Candle-lighting Prayer Service for Victims of Gun Violence in Delaware at Elizabeth Church, Wilmington, part of the Peace Week Delaware observance, Oct. 19-27. Keynote speaker wil be Rev. Michael Teague and music includes Wilmington Diocese Gospel Choir. For more information, contact the Ministry for Black Catholic Office, (302) 573-3104.
- Bring your appetite to St. Matthew’s in Wilmington on Oct. 27, from 8-11:30 a.m. for the Pancake Breakfast and Much More. Cost is $8 per person, and there will be raffles, baked goods, and family fun. Proceeds benefit St. Matthew Food Pantry.
- Oct. 26, 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.: History and Mysteries Retreat, will explore the Holy Rosary. Presented by Kathy Ebner M.A. St. Polycarp Church, Smyrna. $15, continental breakfast and lunch included. RSVP no later than Oct. 18 to Anna Skinner, 302-883-5647.
- The Silver Rose,a prayer pilgrimage program of the Knights of Columbus honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, has returned to Delawar. The rose will be making stops at parishes in the state beginning Oct. 13.
