St. Francis Hospital celebrated its 100th anniversary Oct. 16 by paying tribute to the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, many of whom spent large portions of their ministry serving patrons of the hospital in Wilmington.

Sister Ann David Strohminger, OSF, delegate for religious for the Diocese of Wilmington, was among nearly two dozen sisters from her order in attendance.

The event included a Mass celebrated by Bishop Koenig.

Oct. 16 is the date the hospital was dedicated by Bishop John J. Monaghan in 1924.
