The Diocese of Wilmington has invited everyone, Catholic or not, to “a transformative and deeply enriching event” Oct. 5 at the Ocean City Convention Center. The “Eucharistic Congress: Source and Summit” is a unique gathering that offers a rare opportunity to experience “the heart of the Catholic faith in a powerful and welcoming way,” the diocese announced.
“Whether you are a lifelong Catholic, someone exploring faith for the first time, or simply seeking a deeper connection with your spirituality, this Congress is an opportunity to experience something profound,” said Father Joseph W. McQuaide IV, chairperson of the Eucharistic Congress for the Diocese of Wilmington. “We want to welcome everyone to encounter the beauty and depth of our faith, centered around the Eucharist, which we believe is the Source and Summit of our lives.”
The Eucharistic Congress is more than a religious event — it is an invitation to explore spirituality, community, and meaning in an open and accessible environment, according to Father McQuaide. With inspiring speakers, uplifting music, and moments of reflection, this day is designed to meet people wherever they are on their faith journey, offering something for both Catholics and those curious about Catholicism, he said.
The day will feature keynote presentations from nationally renowned Catholic speakers, opportunities for worship and prayer, and time for personal reflection. It is also a chance to build community, ask questions, and witness how the Catholic faith offers hope, unity, and purpose in today’s world.
The Eucharistic Congress is designed to be welcoming to all — Catholic and non-Catholic alike. It is a moment to come together, share in conversation, and encounter the richness of a faith that has guided and transformed lives for centuries. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about what Catholics believe, and the inspiring message of love and service at the heart of the Catholic tradition.

“Whether you are coming to deepen your relationship with the Eucharist or to learn more about Catholicism for the first time, the ‘Eucharistic Congress: Source and Summit’ is a day of hope and connection that will leave a lasting impact,” Father McQuaide said.
