• Although it takes place in October, it’s never too early to sign up for the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress set for Saturday, Oct. 5. Join other faithful from around the Diocese in beautiful Ocean City, Md., to deepen your faith and fellowship and connect with Jesus in the Eucharist. There will be a ministry fair, and breakout sessions tailored to various interests and age groups. Families with children are welcome and there will be a dedicated family area during the Congress. • The Knights of Peter Claver will celebrate the annual St. Peter Claver feast day Mass, at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington on Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. Bishop Koenig will be the celebrant, and Father Glenn Evers will deliver the homily. • Looking for a fun concert? On Sunday Sept. 8 check out Trio Caliente! at Mary Mother of Peace Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro. This dynamic group from Washington, DC, known for their unique Latin-fusion music, will deliver an unforgettable concert featuring their all-original acoustic compositions. Trio Caliente’s repertoire includes many classic Latin arrangements and genres including Flamenco Rumba, Salsa, Brazilian Jazz, Cumbia, and Reggaeton. The trio is comprised of acoustic guitarists Miguel Bard and Benjamín Schnake, and vocalist/percussionist Deborah “Belladonna” Benner. • Golfers should register now for the annual CYO Joseph A. McNesby Jr. Golf Outing on Sept. 18 at Deerfield Golf Club. • Later this month, The St. Margaret of Scotland Church is hosting the Fifth Annual Outdoor Marketplace on Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come look for treasures, gifts and delicious concessions provided by various crafters, vendors, flea marketers and the church’s Activities Committee. This rain or shine event will be held in the parking lot of St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark.
• Also on Sept. 28, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. the Diocese of Wilmington Annual Marian Pilgrimage will take place at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle. Keynote speaker is Fr. Sebastian White, OP, editor of Magnificat magazine. The Pilgrimage begins with morning Mass at 10 a.m. and concludes with the Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. Bishop Koenig will preside. • On Sept. 29, be sure to check out Mount Aviat’s Annual Roast Beef Dinner, 399 Childs Road, Childs, Md. (Just minutes from Newark.) The menu includes our delicious roast beef with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and of course a delicious array of desserts.
