Sister Eileen Walsh, who taught for three years in Wilmington, dies at 84

ASTON, Pa. — Sister Eileen Walsh, a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 62 years, died Sept. 20 in Assisi House. She was 84.

Sister Eileen, formerly Sister Patrick Mary, ministered primarily in education and social work. She spent three years in the Diocese of Wilmington, teaching at St. Patrick School. She also worked in the archdioceses of Philadelphia and Baltimore, and in the Diocese of Charleston, S.C.

Services will be Sept. 24 in Assisi House and will be private. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Aston. Donations in her name can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, 609 S. Convent Road, Aston, PA 19014.
