SALISBURY, Md. — Forty-seven children from ages 4-10 gathered at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Salisbury, Md., the week of July 8 for SCUBA: Diving Into Friendship, the parish’s Vacation Bible School.

The students rotated through five different stations: Imagination Station, Sticky Scripture Tidal Treats, Reef Rec Games and Deep Bible Adventures. At these stations, they were also introduced to the saint of the day and information about their Catholic identification.

At Deep Bible Adventures, the children were able to explore five different Bible stories with hands-on experiences, including being eaten by a whale and viewing the empty tomb of the risen Christ. During Reef Rec Games, they played games to build teamwork and friendships with each other, according to St. Francis de Sales Parish.

Along with the evening Vacation Bible School, St. Francis de Sales also hosted a family dinner before VBS began each night. The women from the parish Mary and Martha Guild provided desserts all week. Eighteen high school students led the campers from station to station and kept them engaged. In addition, another eight people decorated the vestibules, infant Mass room, hallways and three rooms in the basement.
