ASTON, Pa. — Sister Lynn Patrice Lavin, the former congregational minister for the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died on Sept. 16 at Riddle Hospital in Media, Pa. She was 76 and had been a professed member of the order for 55 years.
She grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Neumann University. Primarily ministering in education in her early years with the Franciscans, Sister Lynn Patrice taught and was a department chairperson at Padua Academy in Wilmington for three years. She later returned to the Diocese of Wilmington as a private practice counselor at the Lumen Counseling and Consulting Center.
Sister Lynn Patrice also worked in education and congregational administration in North Carolina, Baltimore and Philadelphia. She served the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia as formation director for six years and congregational minister for six more. She was an assistant director at the St. Clare Renewal Center and taught at Neumann University.
Services are Sept. 25 at Our Lady of Angels Chapel in Aston, Pa. A Christian wake service will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by visitation. Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Interment of ashes will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Aston.
