There's a nip in the air, but boys spring sports cranks it up this week

Most of the snow is gone, and although temperatures are a bit cool, boys sports begins in earnest this week. The week opens with a much-anticipated meeting on the diamond between two of the state’s top teams.

Ss. Peter and Paul at Key, 3:30 p.m.
Delaware Military Academy at St. Mark’s, 4 p.m. Both of these teams have had their season openers delayed by weather, but it should be clear – if a bit chilly – at St. Mark’s for a top-10 battle. The Spartans open the campaign ranked seventh by 302Sports.com, while the visiting Seahawks are third.

A.I. DuPont at St. Elizabeth, 3:45 p.m. at Canby Park.

Delaware Military Academy at Archmere (1-0), 3:45 p.m. It’s a battle of top teams in Claymont. The Auks scored 17 goals in their win over the weekend against Polytech, while DMA is playing for the first time. The Seahawks are ranked ninth and the Auks fifth.
