An pro-life billboard is seen outside Emmetsburg, Iowa, Jan. 16, 2020. Iowa Republicans passed a personhood bill in state House March 7, 2024, that would make it a felony to "cause the death" of an "unborn person" -- the bill was shelved later that month. It was reported that the bill did not advance due to concerns about the unintended consequences for IVF. (OSV News photo/Shannon Stapleton, Reuters)

Delaware Right to Life will hold its annual banquet on April 18 in Middletown, and two women on the front lines of the pro-life movement are scheduled to speak. The event is April 18 at the Middletown Memorial Hall from 5-9 p.m. The hall is located at 27 W. Green St.

Rachel del Guidice is a former reporter who is the communications director for Ohio Right to Life. A 2016 graduate of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, she worked at The Daily Signal and co-hosted a podcast for the Heritage Foundation. She will discuss the fight against a constitutional amendment in Ohio that enshrined abortion as a right in the state.

Longtime pro-life activist Laura Gies is part of the Red Rose Rescue movement, visiting clinics to hand out red roses and pro-life literature to women. Last year, she was sentenced to 60 days in a Michigan jail for trespassing and obstructing and resisting a police officer.

Tickets to the banquet are $60 and are available at https://derighttolife.org/calendar. The night includes a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner and the speakers.
