Friday fish frys are a long-time tradition for Catholics during Lent, enabling the faithful to keep true to their Lenten abstinence and support their local parish at the same time.

Here is a list of fish frys available in the Diocese of Wilmington:

• St. Mary of the Assumption, Hockessin

March 1, 8, 15 & 22, 5-7 p.m.: Fish Fry/Lenten Dinner, St. Mary of the Assumption parish hall, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Cash or check only. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Single dinner $14, double dinner, $19, kids’ dinner $5. Soup or salad $5 each, $8 combo. Menu includes baked or fried flounder, crab cake, with choice of two sides. • St. John the Beloved, Wilmington

March 1 & 15, 4:30-6 p.m.: Fish Fry To-Go, St. John the Beloved church hall, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Each meal includes a baked fish sandwich, chips, a cookie and a drink. Homemade vegetable Lentil soup can also be purchased. Can be picked up at Saint John the Beloved’s Hall. March 8 & 22, 5-7 p.m.: Fish Fry/Lenten Dinner, St. John the Beloved church hall, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Menu includes fried or baked flounder, a choice of baked potato, French fries or macaroni & cheese, a choice of coleslaw, green beans or applesauce, and a dinner roll. $15 for adults and $8 for children.  Take-out available.  Pre-pay is available at sjbkofcde.org but is not required. • St. Helena, Wilmington

March 1, 8, 15 & 22, 5-7 p.m.: Fish Fry/Lenten Dinner, St. Helena’s Masci Hall, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. A la carte menu featuring large assortment of appetizers, platters, sides, soups and desserts. Kids menu available. Beverages, including beer and wine available for purchase. • St. Joseph, Middletown

March 1, 8 & 15, 5-7 p.m.: Fish Fry/Lenten Dinner, St. Joseph parish hall, 319 E. Main St., Middletown. Sponsored by Old Bohemia Council 6543 Knights of Columbus. Adults $18, Seniors $16, Children (8-12) $12; Children under 8 $5. Takeout available $18. Menu includes fried haddock, baked tilapia, stewed tomatoes, French fries, Cookie Bush’s macaroni and cheese, dinner rolls, tea, and coffee. Shrimp cocktail is also available for $8. • St. Ann, Bethany Beach

• Holy Angels, Newark

March 15, 5-8 p.m. Fish Fry/Lenten Dinner, Holy Angels Fremont Hall, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark. Eat in or take out. Menu includes salmon, baked/fried white fish, tamales, tacos dorados, soup, fish tacos, rice pudding and more. Pre-ordering available. Prices vary. March 1, 8, 15 & 22, 4:30-7 p.m.: Lenten Fish Dinners, Our Lady of Lourdes church hall, 528 Stein Hwy., Seaford. $15 per meal, choice of baked breaded flounder or gluten-free vegetable lasagne, includes scalloped potatoes or mac and cheese, glazed carrots or green beans cole slaw, roll and dessert. Pizza $2 per slice, grilled cheese $3 each, separate sides $2 each, ice cream cup $1 each. Proceeds benefit Josephine Gay Scholarship Fund. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council #4075.
