  • Make your reservations now for St. Helena’s Second Sunday Breakfast Buffet on May 12 from 8 a.m.-12:45 p.m.: The breakfast features a large assortment of hot foods, baked goods, fresh waffles, omelets, beverages and more.   • Sunday, May 12, is Mother’s Day, a day to celebrate moms and Mary, our Blessed Mother too. Birthright of Delaware will be at many parishes hosting their annual rose sale after Masses to support crisis pregnancy services. Be sure to stop by and purchase flowers to support their pro-life work.
  • On May 19, the Ministry of Caring presents its monthly International Night Dinner, Francis X. Norton Center, 917 North Madison Street in Wilmington. This month’s theme is Flavors of India, presented by the Indian American Association of Delaware.   • On Sunday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m., St. Helena’s Music Ministry presents “You’ll Never Walk Alone: A Musical Offering of Hope and Healing.” The concert is dedicated to the memory of Paul David “Gus” Sargent III, who died suddenly last November at the age of 14. Gus was an eighth grader at St. Edmond’s Academy in north Wilmington and a confirmation candidate at St. Helena. Choirs from Salesianum School, Padua Academy and Ursuline Academy will perform, along with St. Helena’s music ministry and a professional orchestra. Free admission, donations welcome.     It’s golf tournament season, and St. Joseph’s Parish, Middletown, is hosting its Annual Golf Outing and Birdies and Brews afterparty on May 17 at Back Creek Golf Course. Birdies and Brews will feature local craft beer, food, raffles and silent auctions and admission is $35.   • And on May 20, Ursuline Academy’s celebrates its annual golf outing at Deerfield Golf Club, 507 Thompson Station Rd. Newark. Shotgun start is 11 a.m. Proceeds from the tournament support enhancing the current student experience and providing tuition assistance for Ursuline families.
