Conrad’s offensive weapons too much for Ursuline

WILMINGTON – Ursuline came out firing in its nonconference girls basketball game Feb. 2 at top-ranked Conrad, but the Raiders came up a bit short in the upset bid, falling, 73-62, in front of a packed gymnasium. It was the first meeting between the two schools.

The Raiders, the No. 5 team in Delaware according to 302Sports.com, got off to a good start, taking a 2-0 lead before the game officially started. Maggie Connolly drained two technical free throws as Conrad was penalized for not reporting a player uniform number change. Connolly then scored after Ursuline inbounded the ball, and the Raiders were off to a quick 4-0 start. Read more »

WILMINGTON – Second-ranked Ursuline shrugged off a subpar first set to defeat No. 5 Wilmington Charter, 3-1, on Oct. 19. The set scores were 11-25, 25-17, 25-12 and 25-16. Read more »

Ursuline volleyball ‘aces’ test vs. St. Georges

WILMINGTON – One word could sum up Ursuline’s volleyball home opener Sept. 19 vs. St. Georges: ace. The Raiders served up an incredible 23 of them as they handled the Hawks, 3-0. Set scores were 25-14, 25-8 and 25-13.

Ursuline (2-0) is fielding an extremely young team in 2016, with three sophomores, five freshmen and an eighth-grader on the roster. But they were never in danger against St. Georges, which struggled on its service receiving and was credited with just seven kills on the night. Read more »
