Local student seeks participants for cancer-fighting fundraiser

One of Delaware’s young warriors is doing her best to fight pediatric cancer, and she is asking you to join her to help ease the burden on families who have been thrust into the battle.

The Pearce Q Foundation is holding its annual 4 Miles of Hope walk/run on Saturday, April 26, and its namesake, 16-year-old Pearce Quesenberry, is looking for your assistance. Quesenberry is now in remission after fighting medulloblastoma, which is a brain tumor. The foundation that started while she was in treatment, the Pearce Q Foundation, continues to support families of children with cancer, and this is one of its biggest fundraisers. Read more »

Padua student cherishes being a ‘healthy kid’ after cancer

WILMINGTON — The cancer treatments have ended for Pearce Quesenberry, but the 14-year-old Padua Academy freshman has no plans to stop raising awareness and money to fight the disease in children.

Nearly four years ago, Quesenberry was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a brain tumor, and the cancer spread to the spinal fluid. She spent most of 2008 in treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and eventually regained her health and energy.
