Level Up Village connects Christ the Teacher with the world

GLASGOW — A group of seventh- and eighth-grade students at Christ the Teacher School have spent the past few months taking an elective that has given them an opportunity to learn about their counterparts in an African nation while mixing in science, technology and sociology.

The class, which wrapped up earlier this week, matched the 16 students with boys and girls in Zimbabwe. It included video exchanges and a Skype session, and the Delaware students made solar flashlights to send to Zimbabwe. Read more »

Teacher makes quick impression on student

Rasheeda Skinner engages her eighth-graders at Christ the Teacher, wants them to be critical thinkers

 

GLASGOW — Alexis Rabinovitch has been an eighth-grader at Christ the Teacher Catholic School for just a few months, but it didn’t take even that long for her to sing the praises of one of her teachers, Rasheeda Skinner, as deserving of special recognition.

“Mrs. Skinner is, without a doubt, one of the best teachers in Delaware,” Alexis wrote The Dialog. “She inspires all of us when she teaches us. … I consider myself blessed to have such an amazing teacher like her.” Read more »
