Students will be heading back to school in just two weeks, but there are plenty of fun and spiritual activities happening in the rest of August in the Diocese of Wilmington. Check out some of these events:

• On Sunday, Aug. 17, the Knights of Columbus at St. Luke’s in Ocean City are hosting a Special Buffet Breakfast to benefit the victims of Texas Flooding. Please come out and support the Knight’s efforts for the people in Texas. Breakfast is $15, 7$ for children 8 and under. For more information, (410) 524-7994.

• Get your appetite ready for the 70th Annual Bull Roast, hosted by St. John/Sacred Heart Church, at Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company on Aug. 17 from 1-5 p.m. The feast features All-You-Can-Eat, beer & soft drinks, music, bake sale, silent auction, and games. • An if you’re in Ocean City on a Tuesday, let the Knights do the cooking for dinner! Join the Knights of Columbus for a delicious and cooked-to-order seafood meal on Tuesdays, Aug. 19, and 26, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Columbus Hall, 9901 Coastal Highway, behind St. Luke’s Church. • Keeping with food-themed events, help support the Emmanuel Dining Room at the monthly International Night Dinner Aug. 24 at the Francis X. Norton Center, 917 North Madison St., in Wilmington. This month’s guest chef is Tom Hannum, Chef and owner of Buckley’s Tavern. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner is at 5:30 p.m. and cost $35 per person. • Kate Regan of Resurrection Parish has organized the Concert to Combat Human Trafficking, at Skyline Methodist Church, 3100 Skyline Dr., Wilmington on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. The concert features performers from Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Free-will donations benefit Shared Hope International and Zoe Ministries Delaware. All are welcome.

• Praying for a loved one to return to the church? Plan on attending the Annual St. Monica Teardrop Mass on Aug. 27 at St. Helena Church 6:30 p.m. Rosary, 7 p.m. Teardrops of St. Monica Devotional Mass, celebrant Fr. Christopher Hanley. All are welcome.

• In Reunion news, St. Mark’s High School Class of 1975 is hosting its 50-Year Reunion on Friday, Sept. 5. Capodanno, MM at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception … St. Hedwig honors the victims of 9/11 at the annual Mass at the church at 6:30 p.m.… Active and retired police, fire, EMT and military are invited to join Bishop Koenig at the Annual Diocese of Wilmington Blue Mass to honor the work of all public safety personnel and military on Monday, Sept. 29,   at 10 a.m. at St. John the Beloved Church.

• There are also lots of great golf tournaments coming up in September. Register for one or more to support great causes in our community. On Sept. 15, the Annual Immaculate Conception/St. Jude Parish Golf Tournament takes place at Newark Country Club. On Sept. 17, the 33rd Annual CYO Joseph A. McNesby Tournament takes place at Deerfield Golf Club, and on Sept. 18, join the St. Elizabeth Golf Classic at Patriots Glen, Elkton, Md. On Sept. 19, St. Michael Council Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament is scheduled for Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, Rising Sun, Md. And Save the Date — Sept. 20 — for the Good Shepherd School Golf Tournament. … Sept. 29, Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia hosts their annual Golf Tournament at Penn Oaks Golf Club, West Chester, PA.
