Check out what’s coming up in the Diocese of Wilmington for June and early July 2024

The heat wave is on and summer is in full swing here in the diocese — be sure to check out some of the following activities to enjoy on your days off, whether at home or the beach. Here are just a few:

• July 4th week/weekend is next week already, and if you’re vacationing in one of the beautiful resort areas of the diocese, don’t forget Sunday Mass. To easily find locations and times, go to thedialog.org/our-diocese/2024-diocese-of-wilmington-summer-weekend-mass-guide/

• This Saturday, June 29, Holy Angels Church in Newark is hosting their annual Big Indoor Yard Sale. Beat the heat and join them for bargains. There will be authentic Hispanic food for sale, lots of furniture, some appliances, adult and kids’ clothing, toys, household décor, books, and more. A bunch of great stuff – too many things to list. • On July 6, St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Hockessin is hosting Father John Aurilia O.F.M. PhD, who will present a retreat on St. Padre Pio. The event was coordinated by the Legion of Mary, and for more information and to register, contact Denise Turner, denitrn@aol.com

• The Down Syndrome Association of Delaware is hosting summer camps this year in Magnolia and Wilmington. The camps run July 15-19 and July 29-Aug. 2 and are for individuals with Down syndrome ages 3-13 and their siblings ages 3-10. • Holy Family Parish is hosting the annual Summerfest from July 10-14. The event includes live music, food, beer garden, rides, carnival games, and games of chance. Hours are 5:30-10 p.m. July 10-12, and 1-10 p.m. July 13-14. Scheduled musical entertainment is Ride the Goat, Different Twist/Skinny B, The Boomers, The Amigos and Raising Cain.
