Signups for Via Crucis at St. Anthony of Padua parish in Wilmington now open

Via Crucis, the dramatic presentation of the Stations of the Cross at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Wilmington, is now holding signups for the 2024 Lenten season.

Now in its 61st year, Via Crucis is a liturgical drama, first presented at St. Anthony of Padua Church in 1933. It was revived in 1961 and has been presented continuously from 1961 to the present. All grade-school age to college-age boys and girls are welcome. Entire families are also welcome to audition to be a member of the cast or support group. Participation can be credited towards community service or other scholastic requirements.

Virtual signups are now open by emailing stanthony.viacrucis@gmail.com. Please include name, age, grade and contact information.

In-person signups are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 7 at 1:30 p.m. with the first rehearsal immediately following from 2-4 p.m. There will be an additional in-person signup on Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m. with rehearsal immediately following.

Practices are: Jan 14, 21, 28 and Feb. 4, 11 from 2-4 p.m. Performances are: Feb. 14, 23, Mar. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 7:30 p.m.

St.  Anthony of Padua Church is located at  9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington.
