Father John Hynes, left, and Deacon Bob Cousar joined members of Delaware Right to Life at the group's annual dinner April 18.

Featured speakers Rachel del Guidice and Laura Gies highlighted the annual banquet April 18 for Delaware Right to Life in Middletown.

The two women have active roles on the front lines of the pro-life movement and spoke of their experience in the effort to preserve life.

del Guidice is a former reporter who is the communications director for Ohio Right to Life. A 2016 graduate of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, she worked at The Daily Signal and co-hosted a podcast for the Heritage Foundation. She discussed the high-profile fight against a constitutional amendment in Ohio that enshrined abortion as a right in the state.

Gies is part of the Red Rose Rescue movement, visiting clinics to hand out red roses and pro-life literature to women. Last year, she was sentenced to 60 days in a Michigan jail for trespassing and obstructing and resisting a police officer.

The event was at Middletown Memorial Hall at 27 W. Green St.
