Bishop Malooly addressed about 80 golfers June 28 at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark as he kicked off the 11th annual Swing Fore Little Sisters.
He was joined by Mother Margaret Regina of the Jeanne Jugan Residence and Michael Tobiason, head golf pro at Deerfield.
Proceeds from the event go to the replacement of the roof at the residence.
Tobiason reminded golfers to stay well-hydrated in the extreme heat. Temperatures at the beginning of July remained in the 90s for several days in a row.
