The Christmas break is a short one for some high school athletic teams in the Diocese of Wilmington, particularly in basketball. Lots of squads are in action this week, whether it’s in New Castle County, on the Eastern Shore or beyond.

The various holiday tournaments present an opportunity to take in a lot of basketball over the course of a day or two. Some of the events support worthy charities, and sometimes, nationally ranked teams visit Delaware or the Eastern Shore.

It’s a limited schedule for the other winter sports, but a few teams will be traveling this week.

As usual, it’s not a bad idea to confirm dates and times before making the trip. In addition, schedules are always subject to change.
