The calendar hits February this week, which means it’s the home stretch for winter sports. Before the week is up, the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association will crown its first champions of the season, in winter track, while the battles continue in the other sports.

It’s a big week on the hardwood, starting Monday night with a matchup between Saint Mark’s and St. Elizabeth’s boys teams, who enter with a combined record of 23-1. The St. Elizabeth girls will take on two perennial contenders this week. And the week ends with the annual SL24 Memorial Classic, which brings many of the Catholic high school teams to the Chase Fieldhouse for an event that is more than basketball.

Elsewhere, track heads to Landover, Md., for the state championship meet, and both Saint Mark’s and Salesianum wrestling are slated to host undefeated opponents from the Henlopen Conference.

Don’t forget to confirm dates and times before making the trip. Schedules are always subject to change.
