The stage was set, the lights were bright and the talented fifth- through eighth-grade students at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School dazzled the audience with their performance of “My Son Pinocchio, Jr.”

Under the direction of Jackie Selba, the students embarked on a journey into the whimsical world of Gepetto, the beloved woodcarver and his mischievous puppet, Pinocchio.

As part of the arts integration initiative at MBS, students have opportunities to participate in a musical production each year. Along with being actors, students controlled the lights and soundboard, while other students worked backstage as stage crew to help with scene changes during the performance.

School officials said the success of each musical performed at MBS is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the students, teachers, staff and volunteers who work behind the scenes to make performance night a night to remember.
