‘Unplanned’ actress Maura Corsini makes appearance Thursday on ‘EWTN Pro-Life Weekly’

As anticipation builds for the release of “Unplanned” the movie, the inside look at abortion provider Planned Parenthood is drawing national attention, including a TV interview this week with local actress Maura Corsini.

The interview with the former Delaware resident and Archmere Academy graduate will appear on “EWTN Pro-Life Weekly” with Catherine Hadro at 10 p.m., Thursday, March 21, with an encore at 10 a.m., Sunday, March 24. The Eternal World Television Network is a global Catholic network and Pro-Life Weekly is one of its regular programs. According to the EWTN wesbite, the show focuses on “pro-life experts (who) shine the light of truth on abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide and the culture of death.

Corsini, raised with her family in Delaware, landed a role in the movie based on the book “Unplanned.” It’s the story of Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood administrator who converted to the pro-life movement after up-close interaction with abortion. Cary Solomon, writer of the movie “God’s not dead”, is among the driving forces of Unplanned.

Corsini’s character is Johnson’s coworker and friend.

Movie premieres are being planned in various places in the United States, including two venues in the the Diocese of Wilmington. On Thursday, March 28, the St. Thomas the Apostle Columbiettes and the Knights of Columbus Council #12374 are hosting a red carpet premiere of the film at Penn Cinema at the Riverfront in Wilmington.

Additionally, the Eastern Shore Pregnancy Center is hosting a showing of the film at the Regal Cinema in Salisbury, Md. Tickets are $15 and are available by calling the center at 410-546-5433.
