Catholic high school sports teams from the Diocese of Wilmington get back to it on Thursday after several days off surrounding New Year’s Day. This will likely be the longest break from competition for nearly all of them until the end of their seasons in February or March.

The week is scheduled to conclude with a highly anticipated boys basketball matchup, but before that, turn your attention to the pool. Undefeateds Salesianum and Caesar Rodney meet on Thursday, and Ursuline and Newark Charter go at it in a meeting of 2-0 squads on Saturday.

There is a possibility of winter weather hitting this weekend. As usual, it’s not a bad idea to confirm dates and times before making the trip. In addition, schedules are always subject to change.
