Saint Mark’s High School earns boys basketball win over Delaware Military Academy: Photo gallery

WILMINGTON — Alassan N’Diaye scored 27 points, including seven in the fourth quarter, to lead Saint Mark’s to a 67-54 boys basketball win over Delaware Military Academy on Feb. 2 at the Chase Fieldhouse. It was the nightcap of the first day of the sixth annual SL24 Memorial Classic.

The Spartans got off to a blistering start, putting up 23 points in the first quarter. N’Diaye had 11 of those on his way to 18 in the first half. Max Batten also provided a spark for Saint Mark’s, providing an inside presence with some rebounding and four first-quarter points.

DMA trailed by 14 at the half but battled back in the third. The Seahawks were led by Gabe Swift, who scored seven points in the third. The Spartans led, 47-42, after three.

Saint Mark’s found success underneath in the fourth to get the lead back into double digits. Batten, Chase Wright and Damon Jones all hit from the paint, while N’Diaye hit a pair of threes in the fourth.

The Spartans improved to 13-2. They will head to Brandywine on Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. Delaware Military (10-6) is at Red Lion on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.
