Lacrosse, softball take center stage for girls during Easter break

The schools might be on Easter break but there are some important games on the schedule this week for the girls’ sports.

Lacrosse

Tuesday

No. 7 Padua (2-0) at Delaware Military Academy (0-2), 3:45 p.m. The Pandas can score goals this year — 36 in their 2 wins. The Seahawks are looking for their first goal this year and an upset win.

Friday

No. 4 Archmere (1-1) at No. 10 Friends (1-0), 4 p.m. Both of these teams are coming off impressive shutout wins and are looking to add a top-10 victory to their resume.

Saturday

Indian River (1-1) at No. 2 St Mark’s (1-0), 1 p.m. The Spartans’ first home game comes two weeks after a nice opening win at Archmere.

Softball

Tuesday

St Elizabeth (1-0) at Hodgson (2-0) 1 p.m. The Vikings look to remain unbeaten on the young season with a win at Hodgson.

Wednesday

Archmere (0-1) at St Mark’s (2-0) 4 p.m. The Auks look for the road win against a Spartans team that is looking for its third convincing win.

Thursday

Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Ss. Peter and Paul, 4:45 p.m.

Friday

Red Lion (0-1) at Padua (1-1) 11 a.m. Both teams dropped out of the rankings this week after blowout losses. The Pandas beat the Lions 1-0 last year and look to get back on track.

 No. 3 Delaware Military Academy (1-0) at Archmere, noon. The Auks look to upset the Seahawks at home field and get a big conference win.

Saturday

Delcastle (0-3) at Archmere, 3 p.m.

Soccer

Thursday

No. 1 Padua (1-0) at Prattvile (Ala.) (6-4), 8 p.m. The top-ranked Pandas travel south to face a pair of teams from Alabama. The Prattville team has played 10 matches already to the Pandas one.

Friday

No. 1 Padua at Chelsea (Ala.), (9-4-1) noon
