A full week of action awaits the boys’ teams, with about a month remaining before the postseason arrives. Lots of April showers early in the month has filled the calendar from here on out.
Two of the best baseball teams in the state meet at Saint Mark’s on Tuesday, and two others who entered the week unbeaten battle the next afternoon. There is also some high-caliber lacrosse scheduled for this week.

First State Military (1-4) at Archmere (4-0), 4 p.m.
Salesianum (2-3) vs. Newark Charter (2-2), 4 p.m. at Leroy Hill Park
William Penn (5-0) at Saint Mark’s (6-1), 4 p.m. The Colonials head to Saint Mark’s coming off an upset win over Delaware Military, who was ranked No. 1 in the state. Both of these teams are averaging more than 10 runs per game.
Ss. Peter and Paul (0-5) at St. Frances, 4 p.m.
St. Elizabeth (1-5) vs. Conrad (1-5), 4:30 p.m. at Richey Elementary School
Wednesday, April 17
Archmere at Concord (7-0), 3:45 p.m. The Auks and Raiders, neighbors along Delaware’s northern border, are opening eyes in the high school baseball community. The Raiders’ pitching has been shutting opponents down, but this will be their third game in three days.

Appoquinimink (5-0) at Saint Mark’s (4-0), 4 p.m. The Jaguars bring their high-octane offense north to meet the Spartans, who are also adept and finding the net. Both teams have gotten outstanding goaltending, with Jacob Muntz manning the net for Appo and Logan Gibbons for Saint Mark’s.
